Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Pacioretty has been out of the team's lineup with a leg injury sustained against the Montreal Canadiens last Saturday.

Today, it was announced that Max Pacioretty would have to miss the next few weeks with a lower-body injury. Obviously, not ideal for the team.

It is even less ideal when you factor in how Pacioretty has been plagued by injuries over the last few years. Overall, there is a fear that he won't be able to do this much longer.

When he has been healthy and in the lineup, Pacioretty has been decently effective. He can still score goals and he is a good teammate, all things considered.

Recently, his old friend from his time with the Canadiens, Maxime Lapierre, gave him a huge co-sign.

As he explained on "Leafs Morning Take," the guy still has the gas left in the tank to make some solid contributions.

Maxime Lapierre still loves his good buddy Max Pacioretty

Of course, there was one major caveat here as it pertains to Pacioretty. Of course, that Caveat was that Pacioretty is able to remain healthy.

It's been difficult for him to do so, especially with a litany of Achilles injuries and other issues. However, it's not like he is done for this season.

Instead, Pacioretty will be able to make his return, and we're sure the fans are very excited about that prospect. Having said that, there is no telling when that will be.

For a guy like Pacioretty, it is important to simply let him make his comeback at his own pace. Otherwise, he could end up injured a whole lot worse.

Ultimately, the Leafs would love to have Pacioretty back sooner rather than later. They also have injuries to Auston Matthews which does not help matters whatsoever. That said, the Leafs are on a three-game winning streak so they can afford to be short on guys.

Only time will tell what happens next for Pacioretty and if he can stake his comeback in before the end of 2024.
