Tobias Eder was beloved in Germany

Just last year, Eder was part of the DEL championship-winning Berlin Polar Bears squad.

His 31 points that season was impressive and he was able to cap it off with an incredible team achievement.

Eder had 22 goals, 31 points through 52 games played with Eisbären Berlin last season, and had one goal, three points through seven games played with Germany's national team in that same span.

Over the course of his career, Eder had 68 goals, 129 points through 263 games played in the DEL - and 5 goals, 9 points through 27 games played with Germany's national team.

This sad news has hit the hockey world incredibly hard with numerous condolences and kind messages being shared on social media.

There is no doubt that Tobias Eder made an impact on his family, friends, and teammates.

26 years of age is too young to pass away, especially of a horrible disease such as cancer. You cannot help but feel for his family right now.

Our condolences go out to the Eder family as well as the German hockey community.

We hope everyone is able to find peace and comfort during this incredibly difficult time.
