Coming into tonight's game, the Maple Leafs should have had an advantage as the Vancouver Canucks flew in late due to inclement weather in Raleigh, North Carolina.
However, it was actually the Leafs who came out flat and uninspired, playing one of their worst games of the entire season thus far.
The Leafs lost the game by a score of 3-0 and there wasn't a single moment in the game in which the team looked like they would win it.
Auston Matthews was demoted to the second line while Morgan Rielly was bad all over again.
Dennis Hildeby was weak in net, letting in three goals on 19 shots, which is not going to win you games.
In fact, the performance was so bad that the fans in Toronto were booing the team during the third period.
Over on social media, fans were absolutely livid with the team, noting that this was just an awful performance up and down the lineup.
A lot of fans pointed towards guys like William Nylander, who have not been playing their best hockey over the past little while.
This week, the Toronto Maple Leafs will be taking gon the Dallas Stars, so it will be interesting to see if they can get up for that game, especially since Dallas is a very good team.
As long as they play better than they did tonight, the team should be alright.
