Sportsnet's Kevin Bieksa had a lot to say about the Montreal Canadiens last night after they lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins by a score of 3-1.

While the Canadiens are a young team that have a lot to learn, Bieksa believes the team is starting to hit a very stark regression that fans should absolutely be concerned about. His only exception is Cole Caufield.

"For me Montreal is very concerning right now," said Bieksa. "When there's progress and you're a young team and you're losing that's fine... but what's the opposite of progress? Regression.

It seems like there is a lot of regression right now, the only guy I can think about who is progressing is Cole Caufield."

Kevin Bieksa has a lot to say

Bieksa finds that guys like Nick Suzuki and even Kaiden Guhle are starting to show some bad signals. He isn't impressed with what is happening, and he thinks it could bode poorly for this team's future.

"Everyone else has kind of flatlined," said Bieksa. "You think about [Kaiden] Guhle, you think about some of their young players, even [Nick] Suzuki, he's kind of flatlined."

And then there's Arber Xhekaj. A guy that I love the way he plays but he's had a really tough season... there's too many mistakes on the ice, there's too many mistakes in the game within the game."

The Canadiens are near the bottom of the Atlantic Division standings, which is about where most pundits had them this season. Having said that, they should be improving, and for the most part, that has not happened.
