A third-line Center has been on the priority list for the Toronto Maple Leafs for months now and with the trade deadline approaching, they may have no choice but to make a move.
If the Leafs were to get a Center, it would likely have to come at the expense of Nick Robertson who is already someone who has been mentioned in trade talks before.
Having said that, a ton of names have been thrown around as of late, including the likes of Brock Nelson and Yanni Gourde.
According to Darren Dreger of TSN, there are seven Centers, in particular, that the Maple Leafs are truly interested in.
Of course, you have Gourde and Nelson, along with Ryan Strome, Ryan O'Reilly, Scott Laughton, Mikael Granlund, and Nick Bjugstad.
These names are interesting although as we have reported, the cost for Brock Nelson is quite steep.
Meanwhile, O'Reilly is a been there done that type of pick and who knows if he would ever be willing to return to Toronto?
Either way, there is no doubt that the Leafs have options and that Brad Treliving has his work cut out for him in the coming weeks.
The Leafs look ready for a playoff run and a bonafide Center would make them one of the more unstoppable teams come the postseason.
