Easton Cowan granted exceptional opportunity amid hot start with the London Knights
Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowan has been a beast for the London Knights and it is getting him noticed on a National level, although that should not be a surprise.
Last season with the Knights, Easton Cowan had 96 points in 54 games which is absolutely off the charts, and this season, he has 25 points in 18 games.
Overall, Cowan is one of the best players in the Ontario Hockey League, and it is getting him noticed by a whole bunch of Team Canada scouts.
The World Juniors are set to take place at the end of the month, and Cowan has officially been selected to be one of the 32 players trying out for the team.
Easton Cowan continues to impress
He'll be one of 32 players competing to represent his country at the tournament, beginning on Dec. 26 in Ottawa, Ontario.
Previously, it has been reported that Cowan would likely be on either the first or second line for the team.
Last World Juniors, Cowan was on the team but he didn't get a ton of ice time, and his skills were not put on full display.
However, this time around, Cowan is being given a chance to show the world that he is one of the best young talents in the entire world.
Unfortunately, Cowan has missed the last four games for the London Knights, which does put into question whether or not he will be ready to play.
Either way, it is cool to see a Maple Leafs prospect continue to get these kinds of looks.
If there is one thing for certain right now, it is the fact that the Maple Leafs have a very bright future ahead of them.
