So far this season, Reimer has not been amazing. He played two games and he lost both of them. Moreover, his save percentage was below 90 and his goals against average was over four.
These are the kinds of numbers that are not going to get you very far in the league.
At 36 years old, Reimer's best days in the league are certainly behind him. However, on waivers, anything can happen.
Well, today, Reimer actually got some very good news. According to Elliotte Friedman, he was claimed by the Buffalo Sabres.
The Sabres are a team that could definitely use a bit of help. Whether or not Reimer actually provides that help, still remains to be seen.
Reimer's best days are absolutely behind him at this point. His prime was spent with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Although he still wasn't the best goalie the team has had over the past decade.
He went on to the San Jose Sharks for a bit and even got to play for the Carolina Hurricanes. He eventually went back to San Jose before going to Anaheim.
His stop in Buffalo could very well be his last in the NHL. Moreover, it could very well end in him getting sent to the American Hockey League.
Either way, we wish Reimer nothing but the best, moving forward. He is someone who has had a solid career and that is something to be proud of.
Given the fact that the Leafs are divisional rivals with the Sabres, we could end up seeing Reimer in a match against Toronto, very soon.
