Nick Robertson has underperformed this season and there are a lot of fans out there who have been calling for him to be traded.
The trade deadline is approaching and the Toronto Maple Leafs are well aware of the fact that the right move could make this team a Stanley Cup contender.
Overall, the Leafs have played tremendously well, although there is no doubt that a third-line center would make this team even better.
Currently, Max Domi is taking that role, however, he could be placed on the wing if Robertson were to be dealt for a man up the middle.
According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, Robertson is currently being pursued by teams like the Seattle Kraken and even the Dallas Stars.
The Kraken are a great trade partner for the Leafs considering they have Yanni Gourde, who is someone that the Leafs have been eyeing for quite some time.
In 34 games this season, Robertson has six goals and four assists. However, many of these points have come over the last month or so following an abysmal start to the year.
Robertson is someone who could certainly get a whole lot better down the stretch which is what prospective trade partners are banking on.
Last night, Robertson was actually scratched from the lineup in favor of Ryan Reaves, although that did not work out as intended.
If the Leafs want to keep Robertson's trade value intact, they may need to let him play as opposed to shelving him on most nights.
