Oliver Ekman-Larsson was one of the more high-profile signings that the Maple Leafs made in free agency, and so far, OEL has worked out tremendously for the team.
Unfortunately, his status for tomorrow night's game against the New York Islanders is officially up in the air.
We say this because the team announced today that Ekman-Larsson would not be skating at practice.
Why? Well, it appears as though the defenseman is suffering from some sort of illness, and he was given the day off.
As it stands, there is very little information to go off of, so there is no telling whether or not this is just the stomach flu, a cold, or something a bit more severe.
Simply put, there is no word yet on whether or not Oliver Ekman-Larsson will be in the lineup tomorrow night.
This upcoming game against the Islanders is an important one as the Leafs recently lost to the Washington Capitals by a score of 5-2.
So far this season, OEL has been pretty decent in terms of offense with one goal and 12 assists in 37 games.
Moreover, he has a rating of +7 which shows that he has been an effective defenseman when it comes to keeping the puck out of his team's net.
Hopefully, he is going to be okay. Either way, we will be sure to bring you all of the latest news and updates surrounding Ekman-Larsson's status for tomorrow night.
