Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies got injured last week in a game against the Las Vegas Golden Knights.

This was due to a hit to the head from Zach Whitecloud, who did not get a penalty on the play.

Since that time, there has been a whole lot of debate about whether or not Whitecloud should have gotten some sort of suspension.

However, nothing ended up happening, and instead, the Leafs have had to play a couple of games without Knies' services.

On Wednesday night, the Maple Leafs are taking on the Florida Panthers and many have been curious if Knies would be back in the lineup.

Well, he was at practice today, however, he was in a red non-contact jersey. Simply put, do not expect him to play tomorrow night.

During practice, Knies was linemates with Fraser Minten and Alex Nylander.

Typically, he can be found on a line with Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner.

McMann - Tavares - Marner
Holmberg - Matthews - W. Nylander
Robertson - Minten - A. Nylander
Steeves - Dewar - Lorentz
Knies, Reaves, Grebenkin

Mermis - Tanev
Rielly - Ekman-Larsson
Benoit - Timmins
Hakanpää, Myers

Only time will tell how the lines shake up as more and more Maple Leafs players return from injury.

As it stands, the Leafs have won seven of their last eight games and are first in the Atlantic Division.

They also boast a record of 13-6-2.
