In fact, Woll was given four starts in a row for the first time this season. Thankfully, Woll handled it well and even went on a three-game winning streak.
As for Hildeby, he has been waiting for another chance in the net, and tonight, he will be getting just that.
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced this morning that their rookie goaltender would be getting the start against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
This will be Hildeby's sixth career NHL start and he will be looking to improve his record to 4-2.
While speaking to the media, Craig Berube admitted that Woll has been playing a lot as of late and that many of his recent wins were emotional ones.
As for Hildeby, he hasn't exactly had the best statistics in his small sample size. His goals-against average is 3.18 and his save percentage is .891.
Regardless, this is an amazing opportunity for him to show what he can do and it is also a revenge game of sorts as he let in six goals on 38 shots the last time he played the Blue Jackets.
Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs are on a three-game winning streak and they will be looking to improve on that tonight.
On Saturday, Toronto is back in action against the Ottawa Senators and it is believed that Joseph Woll will be in the net for that one.
Hopefully, Hildeby can continue to answer the call until Anthony Stolarz eventually returns in a few weeks.
