Toronto Maple Leafs Superstars Reveal How 4 Nations Face-Off Rivalry Has Impacted Their Friendship
Toronto Maple Leafs forwards Auston Matthews, William Nylander, and Mitch Marner are about to compete against each other at the 4 Nations Face-Off this week.
The 4 Nations Face-Off officially begins tonight as Team Canada will take on Team Sweden in the very first match of the tournament.
Mitch Marner goes head-to-head against William Nylander, while Auston Matthews must wait until tomorrow night to get into the action.

These three teammates are being turned into rivals, and one can imagine the kind of stress this is going to put on them.
However, as all three players revealed to the media, this is all water off of a duck's back. For Matthews, he is more focused on Team USA than his Leafs teammates.
«I think you're pretty focused on your team and the guys in your room right now. We can be friends after the tournament," Matthews said."
Marner echoed those sentiments, revealing that he thinks it will be fun to go up against his friends.
«Well, I mean, I think for all of us, every team has a lot of skill and can make a lot of plays," Marner explained. "So, it's about staying patient, knowing that none of these games will be easy. You're going to have to work for your chances and make the most of your opportunities. Yeah, it'll be great. It's exciting. We've played against each other before in these kinds of events, so it's always fun to go up against your teammates. There's always a little bit of chirping, so it should be a good one.»
As for Nylander, he is keeping an even head about things and isn't worried about offending his Maple Leafs teammates knowing things will be back to normal in a couple of weeks.
«Of course, we're still buddies," Nylander stated. "It's just that you've got a full thing going with your Swedish teammates and spending time with them. We're with each other every day for most of the year, but right now, it's about focusing on the team you're with."
Only time will tell which of these teams wins the 4 Nations Face-Off. Of course, Finland could always win it and put a huge wrench in Matthews, Marner, and Nylander's hopes.
