A blockbuster move has been made in the NHL just moments ago as Brad Marchand is going to the Florida Panthers, according to Pierre LeBrun of TSN.
Overall, this is a pretty shocking trade for the Boston Bruins to make considering they were still in the playoff hunt.
Moreover, it was reported that Marchand would be out for a few weeks which, of course, makes trading a guy that much more difficult.
However, the Florida Panthers are going all in on repeating as Stanley Cup champions this season and that has led them to this magnificent deal.
Overall, no one could have expected that the Bruins would captain would ever play for another team.
That said, Brad Marchand now gets to join guys like Sam Bennett, Matthew Tkachuk, and Sergei Bobrovsky. Needless to say, this team is extraordinarily dangers.
Just moments after completing this trade, the Boston Bruins traded their 28-year-old defenseman Brandon Carlo to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
It was yet another trade that has some fans in Boston wondering what Don Sweeney is thinking about and planning right about now.
Either way, this is a great day for the Panthers who also have Seth Jones on their roster.
As for Bruins fans, this is a very sad day as your season is essentially over and there is nothing you can even do about it.
All we can say for now is, better luck next year. Perhaps things will eventually get better. But who's to say.
The Bruins are still in the Wild Card hunt and they technically could still make the playoffs, but without Marchand and Carlo it is going to be that much more difficult.
