Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner has been on a tear so far this season, although his head coach Craig Berube has been noticing a troubling pattern.

On Saturday night, the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning by a score of 5-3 and during the game, Mitch Marner was able to pick up two assists.

This has increased his point totals this year to 31 points in 23 games. He has nine goals and 22 assists.

Overall, this is pretty fantastic and it just goes to show that Marner is playing some of the best hockey of his entire life right now.

The Leafs should be very happy with Marner, although according to Craig Berube, there has been a worrying trend, albeit a silly one.

While speaking to the media, Berube noted how he has been having to dodge pucks from the Leafs bench, as the rubber keeps flying by his head.

Mitch Marner takes frustration out on Craig Berube

Berube joked that all of these pucks seem to come from the stick of Mitch Marner.

This led to a pretty funny comment from Berube, who also made fun of Marner for being mad at him about his ice time.

I almost got hit twice. I gotta talk to Mitch. I don't know if he's pissed off at me or what. I guess he needs more ice time.

Of course, it doesn't need to be said that all of this was tongue in cheek, and there are no real issues between both parties.

If anything, this just goes to show that the Maple Leafs have a lot of chemistry, and there are plenty of good vibes to go around right now.

At a record of 14-7-2, the Leafs are looking good, and Mitch Marner has been a huge reason behind the team's success.
