Steven Lorentz won the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers last season and now, he is a fourth-liner for the Toronto Maple Leafs who has more than lived up to his contract.
Unfortunately, the forward found himself in a bit of an embarrassing position as the Leafs took on the Washington Capitals tonight.
During warmups, Lorentz likes to throw himself into the boards as part of his usual routine.
A ton of players do this and it is fairly harmless as it's just a fun way to immerse yourself in the physicality of the game.
However, on Saturday night, Lorentz suffered a one in a million mishap as his helmet somehow got completely stuck in the boards.
Lorentz tried to pull his helmet from the glass but nothing was working. Overall, it took numerous Leafs players to try to fix whatever the issue was.
In the end, it was Max Domi who was able to save the day by bringing out the scissors to cut the helmet loose.
As for the actual game itself, the Toronto Maple Leafs are currently losing to the Capitals by a score of 3-2 near the end of the second period.
Matt Murray is in goal for the Leafs and he has been a bit shakey having let in three goals on a total of 22 shots.
Only time will tell whether or not the Leafs can make the comeback and get their second win in a row.
