Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Joseph Woll has been known to be injury-prone, and we saw that play out as the team defeated the New York Islanders on New Year's Eve.

Over the last year or so, it has become increasingly apparent that Joseph Woll is a goalie who can get injured very easily.

Of course, this has come at the detriment of the Toronto Maple Leafs, who have been seeking a franchise goalie for over a decade at this point.

Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Joseph Woll gives fans a scare

Today, the Toronto Maple Leafs played against the New York Islanders, and Woll helped them win by a score of 3-1.

He was very solid in the game, although in the second period, he seemed to tweak something in his leg, and he was very clearly uncomfortable.

However, instead of just leaving the game and giving the rest of the net to Dennis Hildeby, Woll stayed in like a warrior.

This caught the attention of Sportsnet analyst Justin Bourne, who was extremely complimentary of the goalie.

«I like how he [Woll] didn't go to the bench and continued to play. You're a hockey player; at some point, you have to play through it, even if you're not at 100%.»

Hopefully, Woll will be good to go later this week as the Leafs have a rematch against the New York Islanders on Thursday.

From there, the Leafs are taking on the Boston Bruins on Saturday and the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday.

Woll will presumably play two out of these three games, which should make for a very interesting situation.
