Maple Leafs legend Mats Sundin recreates iconic photo with Vince Carter
Toronto Maple Leafs legend Mats Sundin is beloved by the fans in TO, and the same can be said of Toronto Raptors star Vince Carter, albeit to varying degrees.
When Carter left the Raptors in the mid-2000s, he became public enemy number one. However, the Raptors have since won an NBA title, and all is forgiven. Now, Carter will be getting his jersey hung in the rafters of Scotiabank Arena, which is very exciting.
Sundin and Carter were superstars on their respective teams during the exact same era. Consequently, the two infamously did a photoshoot where Carter wore a Maple Leafs uniform, and Sundin wore a Raptors jersey.
Well, with Carter going into the rafters, the two have decided to team up again. This time around, they offered up the exact same looks, albeit, they look a whole lot older.
Either way, this was a pretty damn cool thing to do. Of course, it is going to activate a whole bunch of nostalgia in people. Not to mention, it is a nice way to honor two legends who were beloved by the city.
At the time, they probably leaned on each other quite a bit. They both had to learn how to be the number one superstars in a truly unforgiving market. Having said that, it is nice to see them carrying out a friendship, all of these years later.
