Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi found himself in a bit of a situation last night against the New York Islanders as he delivered a huge hit on Isaiah George.

Max Domi and his linemates Bobby McMann and Nick Robertson had a wonderful night on Thursday, although some were worried that the 29-year-old might get a suspension for his hit in the second period.

During the play that led to McMann's first goal of the evening, Domi delivered a hit to Isaiah Geroge that was certainly questionable.

As you can see down below, Domi put his elbow up as he delivered a reverse boom that sent George to the locker room.

It subsequently led to a bit of speculation that Domi might get a call from the NHL Department of Player Safety.

The DoPS had a deadline of 5 PM today to deliver a verdict on Domi, and Leafs fans were waiting wit bated breath.

In the end, the deadline came and went, without a single decision on the forward to be found.

As the old proverb goes..."no news is good news."

All things considered, this is one of those hits that was probably never going to be a suspension.

However, the NHL Department of Player Safety has not always been kind to the Maple Leafs, so there was some concern that Domi would get dinged, for whatever reason.

Thankfully, that did not happen, and the Leafs will get to be at full strength this weekend as the team takes on the Boston Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers.
