The Toronto Maple Leafs are trying to secure first place in the Atlantic Division and their goal is going to be that much easier thanks to an advantage from the NHL.

With the 4 Nations Face-Off break upon us, all 32 NHL teams are being given a chance to take a breather and reset ahead of what will likely be a very difficult final 25-30 games of the season.

Toronto Maple Leafs Playoffs push

The Toronto Maple Leafs are one of the teams looking to improve their position in the standings, and fans are hopeful they can get it done.

They are three points behind the Florida Panthers for first in the Atlantic Division although they have two games in hand. Win those two games and they are ahead.

Moreover, they want to outright win the Eastern Conference so they can draw the weaker of the two Wild Card teams in the playoffs.

Well, that goal is very achievable as it has been revealed that the Leafs have the weakest strength of schedule remaining.

Unfortunately for the Detroit Red Wings, their schedule is pretty brutal and it is going to be difficult for them to get any momentum here.

The Red Wings are fighting for a Wild Card spot and that task has been made a whole lot more difficult.

As for the Maple Leafs, they have a great opportunity to seize the moment and go out with a bang to end the season.

Fans are expecting somewhat of a Stanley Cup run and if they do not get that, they are going to be disappointed.

With a weak strength of schedule, there really are no excuses for this team going forward.
