The Toronto Maple Leafs were fantastic against the New York Islanders on Tuesday as they played a defensive game that saw goals from unlikely heroes like David Kampf and Steven Lorentz.
With the team's rematch against the New York Islanders just 24 hours away, David Alter has reported the Leafs' projected lineup.
As you can see down below, defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson is expected to play after missing the previous game with an illness.
Unfortunately, Pontus Holmberg also had an illness that kept him out of the lineup. Unlike OEL, it would appear as though Holmberg has yet to recover.
Meanwhile, Auston Matthews is projected to miss yet another game, which is pretty disappointing, all things considered.
Joseph Woll and Dennis Hildeby are the goaltenders for this game, and it seems pretty well set in stone that Woll will be the starter.
This weekend, the Maple Leafs are back in action against the Boston Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers.
It is then that we will see Woll and Hildeby split the action, although we imagine it will be Hildeby against Boston as to not give the former three games in a row.
For the Leafs, this stretch of hockey will be a good test, and if they can come away from it undefeated, that would be huge to start the New Year.
