Team Canada captain recently spoke about the National Anthem controversy and the constant booing of the Star Spangled Banner on Canadian soil.

Sidney Crosby had three assists in his 4 Nations Face-Off debut and was truly a game for the ages against Team Sweden.

On Saturday, Canada will be taking on Team USA, and fans are excited for what could be a preview of the championship game.

Sidney Crosby on the National Anthem controversy

Team USA had its debut against Finland on Thursday in Montreal and surprise surprise, the National Anthem was booed again.

Canadian fans are not happy with President Donald Trump and it has led to quite a bit of animosity during the anthem.

However, a lot of players don't like it, especially the American ones. As for Sidney Crosby, he is also very annoyed by the boos in Canada.

«I'm not going to get into that. We respect the anthems, and I'll leave it at that.»

While it isn't the strongest statement, Crosby is saying a lot by saying just a little bit.

The Star Spangled Banner is sacred to a lot of Americans and it easy to see why some would find the boos to be disrespectful.

However, America should not be surprised by the feelings of Canadians especially when you think about the actions of their President.

Only time will tell whether or not these boos are actually going to continue. If they do, then one has to wonder if President Trump is going to say something.

No matter what, Team Canada vs. Team USA could be a classic.
