The Pittsburgh Penguins have not been Stanley Cup contenders as of late, and some believe that this could lead to a Sidney Crosby trade either this year or next.
One team that would certainly love to have the legendary superstar is the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Recently, the Steve Dangle Podcast, consisting of Steve Dangle, Adam Wylde, and Jesse Blake, spoke about the possibility of the Leafs landing Crosby.
Overall, there were some pretty interesting suggestions as it pertains to a potential trade, although whether or not the Penguins would go for these, remains to be seen.
In one proposal, Matthew Knies, Easton Cowan, and Fraser Minten were sent to the Penguins, with a couple of draft picks also getting the boot.
However, the podcast agreed that Matthew Knies should be completely off of the table.
Instead, they proposed a deal consisting of Minten, Cowan, and every single draft pick that the Maple Leafs own in 2025.
Despite the creativity here, the podcast also acknowledged that there is no world in which Kyle Dubas would be willing to accept this trade.
That said, you never know what could happen between now and the deadline, or now and next year.
For now, expecting the Maple Leafs to land Sidney Crosby is a bit of a stretch, especially when you consider how he is a legend and would be hard for the Penguins to relinquish.
