Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving is readying his next move and it's a big one
Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving is currently in the midst of a fun season where his team has risen to first in the Atlantic Division standings.
Overall, Brad Treliving has a lot of work to do this season as he has to go out there and sign players like Mitch Marner, John Tavares, and even Matthew Knies.
However, there is also a large portion of the Maple Leafs fanbase who is begging Treliving to make some kind of trade.
If you have been paying attention, you know that the bottom six have been awful and that a third-line center would be a great addition.
However, in recent games, Fraser Minten has emerged as a great option who can score goals and really do it all.
Having said all of that, a new report from The Fourth Period went in-depth on what Treliving plans to do next.
Brad Treliving hunting for deals
Instead of going after a third-line center, it would appear as though the team wants to go after a second-line center.
The issue here is assets and whether or not the Maple Leafs can even afford to do this.
For now, the Maple Leafs do not have to rush into any sort of deal. They have won nine of their last 11 and continue to elevate.
The trade deadline is a couple of months away, so perhaps the Maple Leafs could wait until then to do something.
Either way, the next few months should be interesting.
