Toronto Maple Leafs make massive roster move prior to Tuesday night's match against Ottawa
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Alex Steeves has spent most of his time with the Marlies this season and some were concerned whether or not he would ever get called up.
However, it was becoming more likely that he would due to the injuries the Leafs are seeing right now.
As many of you already know, guys like Auston Matthews and even Max Pacioretty are out of the lineup. Even Calle Jarnkrok continues to be injured which is not good for the roster.
Having said all of that, Steeves is a guy that fans like, and they wanted to see him get some sort of chance.
Today, the team announced that Steeves would be getting just that. He has been called up, but purely on an emergency basis.

Needless to say, it is likely that Steeves will not be getting any playing time tonight as the Leafs take on the Ottawa Senators. That may be disappointing, but such is the reality of the NHL.
Despite all of the injuries to this Leafs team, they have been on an impressive roll that fans can appreciate.
Last week, they kicked it all off by defeating the Boston Bruins. From there, they won games against the Detroit Red Wings and even the Montreal Canadiens.
Now, with this game against the Senators, they are looking for a fourth win in a row.
This would boost the team's record to 10-5-2 and would make the Leafs one of the few teams in the NHL with double-digit wins on the season.
The Senators are a pretty big rival so no matter what, it is going to be a tough match. No matter what, it is going to be a fun one.
