Craig Berube reacts to Kelly Chase's heartbreaking diagnosis

Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube has quite a few friends from his time in the National Hockey League, and one of them is fellow enforcer Kelly Chase.

These two fought each other a lot over the years. However, Chase is in the midst of the toughest fight of his life.

Recently, it was revealed that Chase was diagnosed with Leukemia for the second time.

"I hesitated to say anything, but so many people are sending me notes so here goes . Yes I have a Round 2 with this punk called leukemia. With the support of these amazing Doctors @SitemanCenter and all my friends prayers and support, we are hoping for a similar outcome as Round 1. I am ready to fight again and have a brother with 100% bone marrow match. I truly am grateful for everyone reaching out. I got this."

While speaking to reporters recently, Leafs head coach Craig Berube reacted to his friend's diagnosis.

"I saw him in St. Louis the other day, and we talked about that. I have been around Chaser for a long time and have known him for a long time. He is a great friend. We wish him all the best. He is a fighter. He is a battler. He will get through it.

I wish him all the best."

These are certainly some nice well wishes. These two were enforcers, with Chase playing for two franchises that Berube has coached. Of course, we are talking about the St. Louis Blues and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

We wish Chase nothing but the best during this horrible time. Hopefully, Chase is going to be able to beat this one final time.
