Max Domi finally scored his first goal of the season and the Maple Leafs were fired up
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi finally got the monkey off of his back tonight as he notched his first goal of the season, against the Buffalo Sabres.
Coming into tonight's game against the Buffalo Sabres, Max Domi had yet to score a goal this season, and there were a lot of fans who were wondering what was wrong with his game.
Max Domi gets the Toronto Maple Leafs first goal of the evening
The Toronto Maple Leafs had a disastrous start to their game against the Buffalo Sabres as Dennis Hildeby allowed two goals on the first six shots.
However, Max Domi was able to offer some heroics in the first period by notching a goal that certainly must have felt good.
All season, Domi has had to answer questions about his lack of goals, and now, he no longer has to deal with that.
As you can see below, his tally was a nice one, and it completely fired up the Maple Leafs who rushed over to show their teammate some support.
At the time of writing this, the Maple Leafs are winning the game by a score of 4-3.
Domi currently has a goal and an assist, while John Tavares has two goals this evening and continues to play high-level hockey.
Subsequently, Nick Robertson even got a goal as he finally found his way back into the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup.
Perhaps the Domi goal will serve as a good omen for this team going forward.
The fans have been begging for some production by the team's bottom six, and with Domi and Robertson getting goals, the prayers have absolutely been answered.
If the Maple Leafs get this win, then the fans will be able to calm themselves a bit. However, if they lose, then that will be two losses in a row against bad teams, which should raise some alarms.
